Pop-Up Art Show: Reach to Teach

Colourful rings of plastic discs displayed on white striped wall

View the colourful new display at the Steveston Museum & Post Office, created by local students from Westwind and Mitchell Elementary Schools, through the Art Conservatory’s Reach to Teach program. If these flower-like shapes look familiar, it may be because the pieces are inspired by the work of Pacific Northwest glass artist Dale Chihuly. Each ring is decorated using shrink-plastic discs decorated in the unmistakable Chihuly style.

The Arts Conservatory has partnered with the Community Arts Council of Richmond to present the Reach to Teach programs, offering multi-disciplinary arts programs to local elementary schools. For more information about this program, visit their website here.
