Field trips return to London Farm
We’re excited to be working on the return of school programs at the historic London Farm in Richmond BC. Immerse your Grades 1-6 students in an outdoor program about gardens, food, farming and sustainability. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings in a heritage garden and farmyard.
We are pleased to offer a unique opportunity to bring your students for a free field trip to pilot a new school program at London Farm. In exchange, we kindly ask for your time feedback and insight about the program.
Free school program
Teachers participating in the free program are expected to complete the following pre/post field trip evaluation
Before the program:
- Participate in one hour pre-visit meeting to review the program outline between Feb. 10-17, 2024 (online)
- Dedicate approximately one hour to reviewing program-related documents before the field trip.
- Free field trip will take place between April 3-10, 2024
After the program:
- Participate in a one hour post-visit meeting to provide constructive feedback, soon after the program (online)
Eligible teachers must meet the following criteria:
1. Teach any grade from Grade 1 to Grade 6 (classes with two grades are acceptable).
2. Teach a class size of fewer than 30 students.
3. Ensure at least 1 adult for 5 students accompany the students on the field trip, including the teacher.
4. Show an interest in outdoor programming at a historic farm.
5. Be available during the following dates for the program review and the field trip. Dates are non-negotiable.
- One hour meeting between February 10-17, 2024.
- One hour to review documents before the end of March 2024
- Free field trip between April 3-10, 2024
