This Spring Break, discover the fascinating world of boatbuilding and innovation as you navigate through the Seine Net Loft building with a fun NEW scavenger hunt at Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site.
From the craftsmanship of different types of boats to cutting edge inventions and creations, each clue will “reel” you into the heart of maritime heritage!
Join the adventure and have fun discovering the rich history of west coast boatbuilding and fishing.
Free admission, open Tuesdays to Sundays 10am to 4pm (new extended hours!), with a special Monday opening on April 1st.
Special guests: Ocean Wise on March 22nd, World Water Day
Joining us this Spring Break is the Education Team from Ocean Wise, in honour of World Water Day on Friday, March 22nd. Led by passionate marine educators and experts, the Ocean Wise program explores the rich biodiversity of the Fraser River and will help us understand their crucial role in protecting these ecosystems. Discover the connection between ocean conservation and how climate change impacts our bodies of water. Visit the Murakami Boatworks to check out their artifacts table and learn and celebrate our connection to the Fraser River.

Ocean Wise marine educators are visiting Britannia Shipyards NHS with their fascinating marine artifacts – like turtle shells, shark skulls, and more – plus lots of fun, interactive activities. The experience is designed to highlight connections between ocean health, climate change, and daily life – and get kids excited about ocean conservation.
