SUMMARY:Westcoast Work Boat Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the docks of Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site as we host the Westcoast Work Boat Association (WWBA) for a gathering of their members in Steveston. \nThe WWBA is a group of work boat enthusiasts who have dedicated their time and efforts to restore or convert former working vessels for pleasure cruising. Many of the members’ vessels include tugboats\, forestry and fishery boats. \nVisitors may get a closeup view of the workboats on display at the docks (access times 12 to 4pm Saturday and Sunday July 18 & 19\, 2026). \nBoat captains will be on hand to talk about their vessels’ fascinating history of working along the West Coast. For more information on the visiting boats\, visit this blog post. \nOn Saturday July 18th look for the Richmond’s Sea Dragon Sea Scouts on the Festival Field for a free maritime knot-tying activity. Learn about this important skill in seamanship from this knowledgeable group!
