DESCRIPTION:The Steveston Tram museum transforms into the Winter Tram for the month of December – climb aboard and explore the history of interurban travel in Richmond. Don’t miss the junior tram conductor dress-up station and strike a pose with the historic tram\, all decked-out for the holidays! Open December 1 to 31 (closed Mondays and stat holidays) 10am to 4pm. Admission is free. \nWinter Tram kicks off with a tree-lighting ceremony on November 30 at 4pm hosted by Tourism Richmond. Come see Santa\, and enjoy some entertainment and light refreshments. \nJoin us for storytime on board historic Tram Car 1220\, with readings by the Richmond Public Library of “The Polar Express” on December 6 (Sat) and 14 (Sun) – reading times at 2\, 2:40 & 3:20pm. DESCRIPTION:Join us at the docks of Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site as we host the Westcoast Work Boat Association (WWBA) for a gathering of their members in Steveston. \nThe WWBA is a group of work boat enthusiasts who have dedicated their time and efforts to restore or convert former working vessels for pleasure cruising. DESCRIPTION:Since April 1991\, the National Day of Mourning has been marked by various events across Canada to remember workers killed or injured on the job or who suffer from work-related illnesses. \nEach year on April 28th\, a Fishermen’s Memorial Service is held at Garry Point Park in Steveston to remember those in the commercial fishing industry who have been lost while at sea. \nEveryone is welcome to join the service at the Fishermen’s Memorial (net needle sculpture) at 11am.
