Observed on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar\, the festival is celebrated across many parts of Asia and features customs such as family gatherings\, moon gazing\, the sharing of mooncakes\, and the lighting of lanterns. \nDrop in to the Chinese Bunkhouse for FREE\, family-friendly crafts: \n\nMake your own paper red lantern\, a symbol of good fortune\, light\, and prosperity.\nCreate a mooncake out of playdough! Mooncakes pastries are a symbol of the moon and are shared to express love and good wishes. Check out all of this year’s Culture Days offerings in Steveston here.  \nBus Meets Tram – An Historic Encounter\nDate and Time: Saturday\, October 4\, 2025\, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm \nStep back in time at the Steveston Tram this Culture Days!  \nOn Saturday\, October 4\, explore transit history by boarding a 1957 vintage bus from the Transit Museum Society. \nThen visit the Steveston Tram museum to climb aboard historic Tram Car 1220\, and get creative at our drop-in “Creation Stations\,” where visitors can design their own version of The Buzzer\, the iconic transit publication\, and colour and create a 3D tram out of paper. \nBonus: The first 100 guests will receive a free vintage 1990 issue of The Buzzer!
