Drop in to the Chinese Bunkhouse from 11am to 4pm and join free family-friendly activities themed around the Lunar New Year\, which falls on February 17 this year. \nMake your own Lunar New Year decoration\, learn about the animal zodiac\, and join a search and find game around the historic site\, suitable for all ages. \nWinter hours for heritage buildings – open Fridays to Sundays 10am to 4pm (open on Family Day Monday). Admission is free.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome in the Lunar New Year in Steveston\, at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site! \nParticipate in a Chinese Lucky Knot Workshop to make a Chinese lucky knot keychain at 1:30pm. Then gather at the main entrance of the Cannery for an exciting lion dance performance from the Vancouver Chinese Lion Dance Association at 3:30pm. \nRegular admission to the Cannery applies (Youth 17 and under are free).

DESCRIPTION:Dive into Family Day at the Cannery! With “fish-tastic fun for the whole family”\,  learn all about the amazing fish in our oceans and the many ways we eat them! Our oceans are full of beautiful\, strange\, and interesting fish\, and canning is only one of the ways that people from around the world have turned them into tasty meals. \n\n\n\nJoin special tours and talks\, family-friendly crafts and activities\, and a special one-day only film screening of Finding Nemo to fill your Family Day with fabulous fish-themed memories. \n\n\n\n\nFinding Nemo film screenings: $5/person. Does not include access to the rest of the Cannery. Youth (<18) must be accompanied by an adult.  Visit the Cannery website for ticket information.\nAll other Family Day activities are included with admission. Youth 17 and under are FREE!
