National Volunteer Week 2024 #EveryMomentMatters

This week we are celebrating the many volunteers who dedicate their time, energy, and skills to making Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site shine.

Volunteers come from all walks of life, representing various cultures, backgrounds, and abilities. National Volunteer Week (April 14 to 20, 2024) reminds us to celebrate this diversity and recognize the unique perspectives and talents that each individual brings to the table.

From Heritage Ambassadors who share the stories of the past and lead hands-on activities; special event and festival volunteers who are the anchors for these events; our talented garden volunteers who dedicate every Wednesday to pulling weeds and keeping the Murakami Garden in all its glory; and the incredible education docents — every single volunteer helps keep our cultural heritage alive and accessible for future generations and our communities.

With 150 volunteers and over 1,657.5 hours last year, we thank our volunteers for all the smiles, helping hands, laughs and hard work.

As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of our amazing volunteers. Your selfless contributions and dedication are what make Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site shine. We are truly grateful for your continued support and look forward to many more years of collaboration.
