Something new is happening right next to the Steveston Tram!
New construction toward a refreshed Steveston Community Park Playground is expected to be completed by Spring of 2025.
Inspired by Steveston Village’s rich history, the new park is designed to be a fun, safe, and inclusive environment.
In addition to classic playground equipment, the new playground will include:
- A new train
- Salmon and fishing boat-inspired climbers
- A lighthouse tower with two big slides
- A double zipline
- Large sand play area with a water table and diggers
The playground is now surrounded by safety fencing for the duration of the construction.

Next door, the Steveston Tram remains open throughout the playground construction. 2024 Fall/Winter hours are 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Closed Mondays and statutory holidays.
