As many of us celebrate the Lunar New Year, we think of our communities past and present who have contributed to the heritage fabric of Steveston, and Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site. The original immigrants who came here from Asia were an integral part of establishing the fishing, canning and boat building industries, and paved the way for future immigration and cultural integration.
