April 19 – 25, 2026 is National Volunteer Week.
The Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site team would like to give a heartfelt thank you to our volunteers.
Last year we had a total of 96 volunteers contribute 2,300 hours of their valuable time!
This included heritage ambassadors, gardeners, shipwright assistants, dockside safety, public programming, school programs, and special event volunteers.
Every one of these roles are invaluable and play such a huge part in making our visitor experiences memorable.
Enjoy these photos of our various volunteers in action, from setting up public programs and engaging with our visitors, working on the Crystal S boat restoration project, and keeping the Murakami Garden beautiful condition throughout the year.
