Step into the rich history and vibrant traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival!
Also known as the Mooncake Festival or Moon Festival, this annual holiday celebrates family, the harvest, and the beauty of the full moon. Observed on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, the festival is celebrated across many parts of Asia and features customs such as family gatherings, moon gazing, the sharing of mooncakes, and the lighting of lanterns.
Drop in to the Chinese Bunkhouse for FREE, family-friendly crafts:
- Make your own paper red lantern, a symbol of good fortune, light, and prosperity.
