Join us for Doors Open Richmond on Saturday and Sunday, June 8th and 9th, 2024, for the rare opportunity to see a restored 1940s Easthope engine in operation!

When: Saturday and Sunday, June 8 & 9, 2024  from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Get a rare glimpse into the mechanical ingenuity of the engine, which helped to transform Steveston’s fishing industry, and learn about the impressive craftsmanship of this historical marine engine. Find us by the entrance of the newly restored Richmond Boat Builders.

What to expect throughout Doors Open weekend at Britannia Shipyards NHS:

• Easthope engine experts Tom and Norm Hume will be on site to talk about their restoration work.
• Enjoy a scavenger hunt for kids
• Guided tours of the site at 10:30am and 1:3opm ($12 ticket can be booked at the Visitor Centre. Kids 12 and under are free)
• June 9th Sunday 12-4pm Richmond Carvers display at Murakami Boatworks
• June 9th Sunday 9am-1pm Island City, by Bike event behind historic stilt houses
