The annual Steveston Salmon Festival is Richmond’s largest event, drawing tens of thousands of visitors to the community every July 1st. Enjoy the Salmon Festival parade, musical entertainment, historical and cultural programs and displays, and lots of food, including the famous salmon BBQ and festival chow mein.

Visit the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site, just a short scenic walk along the riverside boardwalk from the village. Check out the newly re-opened shipyard building, heritage lawn games and a traditional Japanese “Tanabata” craft. Open 10am to 5pm, admission is free. More info here.

The Steveston Tram is an annual highlight for the festival, with Tram Car 1220 on display outdoors (weather permitting), on its original tracks, just north of the Steveston Tram museum. Visitors may explore inside the beautifully restored tram, open 10am to 5pm. More info here.
