What would you pack if you were given a moment’s notice before being forcibly uprooted from your home? The Suitcase Project is traveling exhibit created by Kayla Isomura in collaboration with the Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre.

View photos of items chosen by yonsei (fourth generation) and gosei (fifth generation) Japanese Canadian and American descendants of families who were uprooted form their homes during their internment in the Second World War. Stories and artefacts from local families bring the Steveston connection to closer to home.
