July 18 @ 12:00 pm - July 19 @ 4:00 pm

Free

Visit the docks to view a collection of restored and converted former forestry and fishery working boats.

Wooden boat docked in a row on a sunny day

Join us at the docks of Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site as we host the Westcoast Work Boat Association (WWBA) for a gathering of their members in Steveston.

The WWBA is a group of work boat enthusiasts who have dedicated their time and efforts to restore or convert former working vessels for pleasure cruising. Many of the members’ vessels include tugboats, forestry and fishery boats.

Visitors may get a closeup view of the workboats on display at the docks (access times 12 to 4pm Saturday and Sunday July 18 & 19, 2026).

Boat captains will be on hand to talk about their vessels’ fascinating history of working along the West Coast.

Stop by Richmond Boat Builders for an interactive exploration of wooden boat building. Discover tools and techniques from the Western and Japanese boatbuilding traditions, and try your hand at a boatbuilding tool challenge!
