The historic MV Pacific Yellowfin will be making a rare visit to our dock in Steveston on Monday June 22, 2026.
The beautifully restored 114-foot long wooden boat will make a brief stop at Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site, before continuing its voyage on a nature expedition to see bears, wolves, and whales along the northern BC coast.
The Pacific Yellowfin holds a unique history, from its role in transportation and defense during the Second World War, to surveying yellowfin tuna populations in the 1940s (after which it is now named). Today, the boat is privately owned and has been beautifully restored as a luxury charter yacht, built to sleep up to 17 people and leading expeditions across Desolation Sound and the Great Bear Rainforest, earning recognition as a “Top Canadian Wilderness Experience” in National Geographic.
See the MV Pacific Yellowfin at the Britannia Shipyards dock from Sunday June 21 evening until its departure on Tuesday June 23 morning.
