What can you see, hear and discover? Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site invites you to explore the grounds and discover the animals, plants, and boats that call the Fraser River, home.

Located along the Fraser River estuary, this heritage site not only honours Steveston’s past and celebrates maritime culture, it also highlights the connections to its natural surroundings. Read more about one of our natural neighbours along the waterfront, Shady Island.

On weekends during Spring Break, visit the historic shipyards to enjoy activities for all ages, and explore both indoor and outdoor spaces in this 8-acre heritage site. What can you spy? How do the heritage buildings connect to the river? What more can we learn? Cultivate your curiosity around nature and its relationship to this West Coast fishing community of the past and present.
