So much to do and see this Family Day Weekend!
A triple-header of things to celebrate is coming up the weekend of February 14 to 16, 2026. There is something for everyone to enjoy on each of these of these days in the historic fishing village of Steveston.
February 14 (Saturday) Valentine’s Day
Book a High Tea at the London Farm, for a seat inside the historic London Farmhouse, and enjoy a pot of tea with home-baked sweets. Seating times at 11am, 12:30pm and 2pm. Book by emailing londonhf@telus.net, with your name, date, number of guests and preferred seating time. This popular experience sells out quickly!
Visit the Steveston Tram, Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site, and Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, all open during the Family Day long weekend, with fascinating exhibits and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy together.
February 15 (Sunday) Lunar New Year celebrations
This year, the Lunar New Year falls on Tuesday February 17th. Get a head start in celebrating at the Britannia Shipyards NHS and Steveston Tram, with Lunar New Year themed activities throughout the weekend.
And don’t miss the celebration at Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, starting at 1:30pm inside the site for Lucky Knot making, and a Lion Dance performance at 3:30pm!
February 16 (Monday) Family Day
All three heritage sites in the village will be open on Family Day Monday February 16, 2026. Activities and exhibits for families of all ages continue at the Britannia Shipyards NHS and Steveston Tram, with a special showing of “Finding Nemo” at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery NHS at 10:30am, 1pm and 3:30pm.
Britannia Shipyards NHS and Steveston Tram are free of admission.
