All aboard for Spring Break adventures at the Steveston Tram
Looking for a fun and affordable outing this Spring Break? Drop by to step aboard historic Tram Car 1220 and discover what it was like to travel through the region more than a century ago.
Visitors can explore the beautifully restored 113-year-old interurban tram which was once part of the rail system that connected communities across the Lower Mainland. Throughout the museum, find hands-on exhibits and discover the important role trams played in everyday life in Richmond.
Children can step into the role of a tram conductor by dressing up in uniform and “selling” tickets from our kids-sized ticket booth. It’s a fun way to imagine what it was like to work on the tram when it carried passengers between communities.
Young visitors, or those who are young at heart, can also take part in our daily Hamm on the Tram search. Find where Hamm, a cheeky piglet stuffy, is hiding today and receive a limited-edition bookmark to take home. Hamm moves to a different spot every day, so come back to see if you can find him throughout the Spring Break vacation. Don’t forget to bring your bookmark with you to record how many times you’ve spotted Hamm!
Children can also receive a Junior Conductor ticket to bring back on future visits to build up points and collect badges.
Whether you’re exploring the historic Tram Car 1220 , trying interactive exhibits, or discovering where Hamm is hiding, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this Spring Break – program offered March 14 to 29, 2026.
The Steveston Tram is open 10:00am to 4:00pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Closed on Mondays. Admission is free.
